Our mission is simple yet crucial. We serve the men, women, and families of current, former, and future servicemembers by offering financial assistance, career guidance, and opportunities for community service. Learn more about the history of CAMS.
Our members are made up of servicemembers, veterans, and future recruits from all service branches and all components. At CAMS, we serve this great nation by serving each other. The more support we provide our members here at home, the better they can focus on their national defense duties. Learn more about how to become a CAMS member.
Keeping our great nation safe does not just mean at the front lines. We make sure our communities are thriving by giving back to the places from which we came. CAMS partners with local organizations, public officials, and community leaders to provide meaningful community service opportunities for those who seek it. These are the people we fight for everyday. Learn more about how you can help CAMS give back to the community.
One thing is certain – over the past two years, we have witnessed history unfold before our very eyes – “Covid 19 Pandemic”. And, with history, usually comes terrible and tragic events. But what is also certain, is that with tragic events, comes the opportunity for humanity to shine. We have seen neighbors help each other in communities that are struggling. We have seen people of all races stand up in unity to denounce a scourge of hate speech and hate crime occurring across the nation. We have seen our brothers and sisters in arms face the enemies and adversaries of this Nation head-on, without fear. It is with this great inspiration that I say to all CAMS members and their families: I am so proud of you all for not only maintaining your professionalism and military bearing during these difficult times, but also for sticking with your communities. That is, after all, why we get up every day and put on this great uniform. It is not just for “the country” but indeed for the “very people” that surround us, from all walks of life and from all beliefs and dreams.
It is with great honor and pleasure that I lay out the “Action Plan” for CAMS for the next year, as we move into the holiday season and the beginning of a new year. 2022 is a year we will all be able to relate to. It is the Year of the Tiger, so let us be like the tiger, and pursue our mission with dedication, honor, professionalism, and stunning grace. Like the tiger, let us continue to be strong and protect our own.
Let us keep “Serving the Country While Supporting our Community!”

STRATEGIC ACTION PLAN 2021 - 2022
ADVANCING OUR PRIORITIES:
CAMS’ priorities over the next six months will be a three-pronged approach:
(1. enlist new CAMS leaders and members, 2. develop a new website for information sharing and launching an e-donation system, and 3. launching CAMS merchandise to spread awareness and raise funds). CAMS is a small organization and with a small membership base. We hope to change that by growing our assets, both financial capital and human capital. We aim to raise enough funds over the next half-year to launch new services and programs
to support our members. Our “key” goal is to leverage the highly motivated leaders in our ranks and their artistic talents to create and develop an online e-shop. Below you will find a general outline to help us approach, and accomplish, these goals.
The Strategic goal for CAMS over the next five months starting on 10/15 and ending on/around 3/15 will be:
1) Finish updating the new CAMS webpage
(10/15/21 - 10/31/21)
With the proliferation of information technology in the 21st century, CAMS has not been at the forefront of innovation, and we have lagged terribly in this area. With technology now becoming more accessible, cheaper to use, and easier to operate, CAMS has invested in developing a new webpage to not only
legitimize itself as a contender in the military and veterans support community, but to reach a global audience as well.
2) Create and maintain an enduring online donation system (GoFundMe, Paypal, Venmo, Amazon
Smile) (10/15/21 -10/31/21)
As mentioned in Strategic Goal #1, online donations now account for nearly 25% of a non-profit’s total donations. Therefore, it is crucial to implement a robust, enduring online donations system to ensure CAMS can continue its mission of supporting our members and our communities. Our goal is to create multiple options for donors to contribute, from hosting their own fundraisers during birthdays, to passive contributions via Amazon Smile and other methods. We encourage our members to actively promote these donation tools and will empower you with the resources to be successful, should you choose to do so.
3) Targeted fundraising campaigns over the holiday season (Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Birthdays)
(10/31/21 -2/15/22)
With major holidays approaching, CAMS will need to prepare a coherent, efficient targeted fundraising campaign to raise funds for future programs and services. We will need to develop a clear message to donors and hope that their generosity extends to helping us provide those programs and services.
4) Develop CAMS merchandise for purpose of raising funds and spreading awareness of CAMS’ mission (Coin, Tshirts, Mugs, Stickers)
(10/31/22 – 2/15/22)
The past two or three years, CAMS has been able to sell one style of organization T-shirt to raise money and spread awareness of who we are and what we do. Our members have shown tremendous team spirit by wearing the shirts during informal get togethers, community service events, and other CAMS sponsored outings. It is with great excitement that we plan to turn to our artistically talented members to take charge and develop an online store which will feature items such as command coins, shirts, mugs, and stickers. As an all-volunteer force, CAMS does not use any money for staff income or compensation; 100% of the money will go into programs and services to make our members and communities stronger.
5) Develop donor base for enduring stream of funds
(ongoing)
An ongoing goal for CAMS is to identify future donors and develop a meaningful relationship with them. Philanthropists are out there searching for worthy causes to give to, and CAMS is hopeful of finding the right match to improve and grow the organization.
6) Elect key leaders to be board members, and engage all current members to recruit new members (ongoing)
Last but not least, it is our motived leaders who drive this organization. It is our members that are at the center of our mission of support and service. We hope that all of our current members will serve as ambassadors and befriend, mentor, and recruit both military members as well as their friends and families into CAMS. Our diversity is our strength, and the more we have, the stronger we are.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
As we move out of 2021 and into 2022, we are certain to encounter many challenges along the way. But let it be known that the hard work and perseverance we put into laying the groundwork now, will result in a strong, sturdy foundation on which CAMS can grow bigger, stronger, and healthier. Join me as we embark on this voyage, with me as your guide and you as my intelligent, dedicated team members. It is my hope that we will not only build the best version of CAMS, but the best version of your own selves.
Sincerely,
CDR Arthur C. Fong, USN
CAMS President
